Master Your Pokémons Sleep Schedule
Pokémon Sleep is a unique mobile app that combines sleep tracking with Pokémon gameplay, designed to encourage better sleep habits while rewarding users with Pokémon based on their sleep quality. It was released on July 17, 2023, in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
Gameplay Overview
- Sleep Tracking: The app uses your phone's microphone and accelerometer to monitor your sleep patterns. Alternatively, the Pokémon Go Plus+ device can be used for tracking without needing a phone.
- Snorlax as a Central Character: Players care for a Snorlax, feeding it berries and meals during the day to increase its "Drowsy Power," which determines the variety and rarity of Pokémon attracted at night.
- Sleep Types and Pokémon: Sleep is categorized into three types—Dozing, Snoozing, and Slumbering. The dominant sleep type influences which Pokémon visit you. Each Pokémon has unique "sleep styles" that are recorded in the Sleep-Style Dex.
- Daily Cycle: A new day in the game starts at 4:00 AM, not midnight, ensuring accurate sleep data logging.
How It Works
- Nighttime Gameplay: Before sleeping, players open the app, set their bedtime, and activate sleep tracking. Upon waking, they receive a sleep report and see which Pokémon were attracted during the night.
- Daytime Activities: Players can interact with Snorlax by feeding it and bonding with Pokémon they’ve caught. This boosts Snorlax’s power for future sleep sessions.
- Rewards for Consistency: Better and longer sleep results in higher Sleep Scores, which attract rarer Pokémon and unlock new features.
Additional Features
- Audio Recording: The app can record nighttime sounds like snoring or other noises during sleep sessions.
- Free-to-Play Model: The app is free but includes in-app purchases for items like PokéBiscuits to strengthen bonds with Pokémon.
- Integration with Pokémon Go Plus+: This wearable device enhances gameplay by tracking sleep without requiring a phone on the bed.
Pokémon Sleep is both a fun and practical tool aimed at improving users' sleep habits while engaging them in a lighthearted gaming experience.
