Unleash Your Pokémon Power: What No Guard Means!

The No Guard ability in Pokémon ensures that all moves used by or against the Pokémon with this ability will never miss, regardless of their accuracy or the opponent's evasion. This includes moves that typically have a chance to miss or those used during semi-invulnerable turns of moves like Fly, Dig, or Dive. However, it does not bypass type immunities or affect one-hit KO moves like Horn Drill.

    In-Battle Effects:

    • All moves used by the Pokémon with No Guard and all moves targeting it have 100% accuracy.
    • It allows moves to hit opponents even during semi-invulnerable turns (e.g., Fly, Bounce).
    • In earlier games like Diamond and Pearl, a bug allowed certain moves to bypass Protect or Detect under specific conditions, but this was fixed in later versions.

    Outside of Battle:

    • If a Pokémon with No Guard is in the lead party position, the wild Pokémon encounter rate doubles. This effect is not present in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

    Pokémon with No Guard:

    Some examples include:

    • Machop, Machoke, and Machamp
    • Honedge and Doublade
    • Mega Pidgeot
    • Hidden Ability examples: Karrablast, Golett, Golurk, and Midnight Lycanroc.

This ability is particularly useful for moves with low accuracy, ensuring they always land while also making the user vulnerable to all incoming attacks.
